# Fix a Payment Issue

> What to do when a Newie payment fails, an invoice is overdue, or a payment method needs updating.

## Overview

Payment issues usually start from the failed invoice or Customer Manage Link tied to that payment. Use the link Newie or the business sent for the overdue payment instead of buying the service again.

## Common Reasons Payments Fail

* Expired card
* Insufficient funds
* Bank or card issuer block
* Incorrect card details
* A payment method that is no longer supported
* A bank debit payment that failed after submission

## What to Do

    Open the Newie email about the failed payment or overdue invoice, or use the Customer Manage Link the business sent you.

    Choose the action Newie shows for that payment issue, such as updating your payment method, paying the overdue invoice, or retrying the payment.

  <Step title="Enter updated payment details">
    Enter a new card or payment method if needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Retry or wait">
    Retry the payment if Newie shows that option, or wait for the next automatic retry if one is scheduled.
  </Step>

If a subscription is overdue, the Customer Manage Link shows the payment actions available for that invoice.

If you are trying to fix an overdue or failed invoice, use the Newie payment link for that invoice rather than buying the service again.

## When to Ask for Help

Contact the business first if the payment relates to service access, cancellation terms, or whether billing should continue.

Contact Newie support if the payment link does not work, a payment looks incorrect, or the business cannot resolve a Newie payment issue.

Include the business name, service name, purchase email address, and payment details.
