# Purchase as Customer

> Complete checkout from inside Newie while you are with the customer or speaking with them.

## Overview

Purchase as Customer lets you start checkout from the Newie app while helping a customer buy. It fits assisted sales, bookings, phone calls, front-desk payments, and other guided purchase moments.

## Assisted Checkout

Purchase as Customer opens checkout from inside the Newie iOS or macOS app, so you can complete a sale while you are with the customer or speaking with them directly.

It suits assisted sales: the customer wants you to handle checkout, you are taking a booking over the phone, or the in-person sale does not need Tap to Pay.

Purchase as Customer requires payout setup to be complete, and the service must be **Available for Sale**.

</Steps>

On macOS, open the service action menu and choose **Purchase as Customer**. Newie opens the assisted checkout window for that service.

## When Tap to Pay Is Better

[Tap to Pay](/guides/tap-to-pay) is better when the customer is with you and wants to pay by tapping a contactless card or digital wallet on your iPhone.

Purchase as Customer is better when you want the normal checkout flow from inside Newie without taking a contactless payment on your iPhone.
