# About Newie

> What Newie is, who it is for, and how service providers use it to sell services.

Newie makes it simple to sell services and manage customer payments. Create a service and share its checkout link from your iPhone or Mac. Customers buy in their browser, and you manage their purchases and ongoing billing in one place.

## How Newie works

1. **Create a service.** Set out what the customer is buying and choose a one-off payment, subscription or instalment plan. You can build the service yourself or describe it to Newie's AI and review the draft.
2. **Share it with customers.** Send a checkout link or show a QR code. Customers can review the service and buy in their browser. You can add terms for them to accept at checkout and a welcome email with their next steps.
3. **Manage the purchase.** Newie keeps the customer's payment records and handles scheduled subscription and instalment billing. You can manage subscriptions, check invoices and payouts, and see how sales are performing.

Explore [Key Features](/introduction/key-features) for ways to recover overdue payments, include transaction fees in your price and tailor payments to a client.

## Who Newie is built for

Newie is built for people who sell their time or expertise: a coach running a program, a consultant on a monthly retainer, or a business selling treatment packages. You can use it for work you deliver online, in person, or both.

You can keep using your booking, coaching and accounting tools alongside Newie. See [Common Ways to Use Newie](/introduction/who-uses-newie-common-workflows) for examples from different businesses.

## Newie fees

There are no monthly or sign-up fees. Newie charges a transaction fee when a payment succeeds, with additional fees for some features, payment methods and Instant Payouts.

See [Fees & Limits](/introduction/fees-and-limits) for the rates and when they apply.
