Use this when you are moving existing offers, customers, or billing workflows from another platform into Newie. This is a setup guide, not a selling guide. Use it before sending customers new checkout links.

What to Plan First

  • Which existing offers should become Newie services
  • Which old plans can be consolidated into fewer, cleaner services
  • Which customers need to move across
  • Whether each offer is ongoing, fixed-term, one-off, or paid in scheduled installments
  • Whether customers need new terms, Welcome Emails, or start dates
  • How you will tell customers to switch
  • Who will follow up with customers who have not checked out
  • Whether you should use Newie’s guided migration support instead of moving customers manually

Use the Move to Simplify Your Services

Switching to Newie is a good time to clean up old offers instead of recreating every historical price as a separate service. For example, if you sell online coaching and customers are on different monthly or fortnightly prices, you usually do not need a separate service for every legacy rate. Create a small number of clean base services around the real offer and billing cadence, then use Custom Pricing Links for customers who need an old price, negotiated price, or specific transition start date. Use separate services when the offer or billing cadence is genuinely different, such as monthly coaching versus fortnightly coaching. Use custom pricing links when the service is the same, but the customer needs a different price or start date.

Migration Steps

1

Decide which old plans can become cleaner Newie services

2

Choose the closest matching billing setup for each service

3

Set up equivalent pricing, billing schedules, terms, Welcome Emails, and payment options

4

Share standard service links where possible, or use custom pricing and start dates for customer-specific transitions

5

Communicate the switch to customers before asking them to buy or subscribe through Newie

6

Monitor who has switched and follow up with customers who have not completed checkout

For most self-managed moves, existing subscriptions on the old platform need to be cancelled separately and customers should sign up again through Newie links. If a customer should keep a legacy price, send them a custom pricing link from the right base service instead of creating a one-off service just for them.

Guided Migration Support

If you are moving from Stripe directly to Newie, contact Newie before asking customers to switch. Newie has a guided migration path for Stripe migrations, and the team can work with you to make the move straightforward. Use guided migration support when:
  • You already have active customers or subscriptions in Stripe
  • You want help moving customer billing into Newie
  • You need to switch customers in bulk
  • You are moving from Strut or another platform where Newie can confirm the right migration path
Confirm the migration plan with Newie first, then communicate the switch to customers. Last updated: 2026-06-01
