Keep a searchable record of Newie purchases, payments or follow-ups in Google Sheets. Decide what one row represents before building the Zap: a subscription and each of its payments are different records.

Set up the sheet

Create the column headers first, using a Google account with editor access to the spreadsheet. Include the Newie ID you will use to find the row again. Payment Paid runs for every successful payment, including renewals and instalments. For BECS Direct Debit, the row is created after bank confirmation.

Add new rows

  1. Connect Newie to Zapier and create a Zap with the trigger for your sheet. If the sheet is for one service, add an Offering ID filter immediately after the trigger, before the row is created.
  2. Connect Google Sheets and choose Create Spreadsheet Row.
  3. Select the spreadsheet and worksheet, then map each Newie field to its column. Map subscriptionID to Subscription ID for a subscription row, or stripeInvoiceID to Invoice ID for a payment or overdue-invoice row.
  4. Test with an identifiable record. Check the ID, dates, amount and currency before turning on the Zap.
For payment records, use stripeInvoiceID as the invoice ID. Convert amount from minor units before storing a decimal amount: for AUD or USD, 1060 becomes 10.60. Keep the currency and follow the payment-field mapping guidance for other currencies. Fill Date logged with the Zap run time; the payment trigger does not supply a dedicated payment-confirmation timestamp.

Update the same row later

For Subscription Ends, add Lookup Spreadsheet Row and select the same spreadsheet and worksheet. Set Lookup column to Subscription ID and Lookup value to Newie’s subscriptionID. In Update Spreadsheet Row, use the row returned by the lookup for Row, then map the end date. A customer’s email alone cannot distinguish two subscriptions they bought. For recovered payments, use Payment Paid with the same lookup-and-update sequence: search Invoice ID for stripeInvoiceID, then update that row’s follow-up status. Continue to the update only when the lookup finds a match. This closes the task for the recovered invoice without creating a new overdue task.

Keep the sheet usable

If you rename a column header, remap it in the Zap before the next run. Last updated: 2026-09-10
