Before You Delete

You can delete a Newie account from the app or request deletion from the web. This page covers provider accounts, customer accounts, and guest purchases made through Newie checkout. Deleting the Newie app from a device does not delete your account.

Delete Your Account from the App

If you can still sign in to Newie, use the in-app deletion option.

iOS

1

Open Newie

Sign in with the account you want to delete.
2

Open Settings

Open Settings.
3

Choose Delete account

Scroll to the bottom of Settings and choose Delete account.
4

Follow the prompts

Newie will show any account-specific steps that must be completed before deletion can finish.

macOS

1

Open Newie

Sign in with the account you want to delete.
2

Open Settings

Open Settings and choose the Account tab.
3

Choose Delete Account

Choose Delete Account….
4

Follow the prompts

Confirm the deletion when Newie asks whether you are sure.
If the account has active subscriptions, Newie requires those subscriptions to be canceled before the account can be deleted. In that case, Newie shows a message telling you to cancel active subscriptions first.

Request Deletion from the Web

If you cannot access the app, email support@newie.app and ask Newie to delete your account. Use a subject such as Delete my Newie account. Include:
  • the email address used for your Newie account or purchase
  • your name
  • whether you are a provider, customer, or both
  • if you are a provider, the provider or business name shown in Newie
  • if you are a customer, the business name and service name connected to the purchase, if known
  • whether you used Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email sign-in
Newie may need to verify that the request came from the account owner before completing deletion.

Providers

Before deleting a provider account, check whether the account has:
  • active subscriptions
  • unpaid, overdue, disputed, refunded, or pending payments
  • pending payouts
  • reports, receipts, or accounting records you still need
  • services, Store links, QR codes, or integrations that should no longer be used
Cancel active subscriptions before deleting the account. If you need records for tax, accounting, reconciliation, or business handover, download them before deletion.

Customers

If you bought from a business through Newie, deleting your Newie account does not replace contacting that business about service delivery, cancellation terms, refunds, bookings, or access to the service. Before requesting deletion, check whether you still need to:
  • cancel a subscription
  • pay or resolve an overdue invoice
  • update a payment method
  • download a receipt or purchase record
  • contact the business about the service you bought
If you purchased as a guest and do not have a Newie app login, email support@newie.app with the purchase email address, business name, and service name.

What Is Deleted or Kept

When an account is deleted, Newie deletes or deactivates the account profile and app-access records associated with that account where they are no longer needed. Some records may need to be kept for payment processing, payouts, tax, accounting, dispute handling, fraud prevention, security, legal obligations, or support history. This can include transaction, invoice, payout, refund, dispute, and audit records connected to completed or attempted payments. Newie support will tell you if a specific account cannot be deleted immediately because there are active subscriptions, unresolved payment records, or identity checks that need to be completed first.
