Overview
Newie payment methods are controlled by Stripe eligibility and by the way the provider account is set up. Country, currency, device support, customer method, and account status all affect what appears at checkout.Payment Methods at a Glance
Newie does not support PayPal, BPAY, or split payments across multiple cards as Newie-managed payment methods.
Manage Accepted Payment Methods
Open Accepted Payment Methods to manage the payment methods available for new purchases.- On iOS, open Settings → Payments & Payouts → Accepted Payment Methods.
- On macOS, open Settings → Payments & Payouts → Accepted Payment Methods.
Changing accepted payment methods affects new purchases. It does not change existing customers or existing billing agreements.
If Newie shows Action Required, tap Update Now to continue to Stripe.
If Stripe asks for a website and you do not have one, use a social media profile URL if Stripe accepts it for the setup step.
If AU Bank Account (Direct Debit) shows as off but you already have AU Direct Debit customers, that can be because Newie previously defaulted AU Direct Debit to on. Changing the setting affects new purchases, not existing customers.
Service-Level BNPL Control
Buy Now Pay Later is controlled in two places:- Accepted Payment Methods: turn BNPL providers on or off for the account
- Eligible One-Off Purchase service editor: turn Buy Now Pay Later on or off for that service
