Overview

Getting set up in Newie means creating a service, finishing payout setup, and sharing a way for the customer to pay. Most first setups follow that same sequence.

Setup Steps

Create Your Account

Download Newie on iPhone or Mac.Sign up, verify your email where prompted, and fill in the profile details Newie asks for, such as name, profession, biography, and profile photo.See Account & Profile for the full setup.

Create Your First Service

A service is what customers buy from you. Newie supports three types:
  • Subscription - recurring billing on a schedule (weekly, monthly, etc.) until paused or canceled.
  • One-Off Purchase - a single-purchase service with one invoice and payment.
  • Instalment Plan - a fixed total split across a set number of scheduled payments.
In the app, go to Sell → Services → New Service, choose the type, name it, set the price, and save. You can come back later to add Terms of Service, digital downloads, a Welcome Email, intro pricing, setup fees, or BNPL where eligible.See Services for service-type details, pricing options, intro pricing, setup fees, and digital downloads.

Set Up Payouts

Complete payout setup when Newie prompts you during onboarding or from the Home screen.Choose the country Newie asks for, then continue to Stripe to complete payout onboarding, including bank account, identity, and business details.See Payouts for payout schedules, payment clearing time, and Instant Payouts.

Share Your Service

Common ways to take a customer through to payment include:
  • Link. Every service gets a customer-facing link (share.newie.app/offerings/...) you can paste anywhere: Instagram, email, SMS, iMessage, or your website.
  • QR Code. Download or display a QR code customers scan to open the same payment page.
  • Tap to Pay. Take an in-person card or digital wallet payment on a supported iPhone after Tap to Pay has been enabled for your account.
See Selling Overview for full details on each.

Take Your First Payment

When a customer pays, Newie automatically:
  • Sends them a New Purchase email (and a Welcome Email if you’ve configured one).
  • Adds the funds to your Newie payout balances while they clear.
  • Notifies you in Newie where notifications are enabled.
Newie shows your current clearing and payout timing in Payouts. New accounts can have a first-payout verification period, and timing can also be affected by region, weekends, public holidays, account reviews, and payment method.Newie also supports Instant Payouts for eligible providers and eligible funds.See Payouts for clearing, payout schedules, bank-arrival details, and Instant Payouts.

Moving Existing Stripe Customers

If you already have lots of active customers or subscriptions in Stripe, contact Newie before manually canceling subscriptions or asking everyone to sign up again. Newie can support guided Stripe migrations and help you plan how existing customers, billing, pricing, start dates, and customer communication should move into Newie. See Switch to Newie for the full migration planning guide. Last updated: 2026-06-26
