Overview

Customer checkout can start from a link, QR code, Store page, Tap to Pay session, or assisted purchase in the app. Newie then handles the payment, receipt, purchase record, and any service email attached to that sale.

After a Customer Buys

Checkout starts

Checkout can start from a service link, Store, QR code, Purchase as Customer flow, or Tap to Pay.For Tap to Pay and Purchase as Customer, you start the flow from the Newie app.

Customer pays or starts the plan

The customer completes payment, starts a subscription, or begins an instalment plan.This can happen before service delivery, at the time of delivery, or after the service has been delivered.

Newie sends purchase and onboarding emails

Newie sends the New Purchase email.If Terms of Service is enabled, the customer agrees before checkout and the agreed terms record is included with that purchase email.If Digital Downloads is enabled, the New Purchase email includes the download link. If you configured a Welcome Email, Newie sends onboarding details.

Automations run

Matching Zapier automations can run after supported Newie events if you have connected them.

Newie handles ongoing billing

Ongoing billing is handled by Newie: subscriptions renew on schedule, and instalment plans collect payments until complete.

You deliver the service

You deliver, continue, or have already delivered the service according to your workflow.

Post-Checkout Messages

The New Purchase email handles the payment record, agreed terms, and digital download when those apply. The Welcome Email handles onboarding and next steps. For the detailed onboarding version, see Use Welcome Emails to Onboard Customers.

Common Selling and Tap to Pay Support Questions

Publish to Web makes the Store usable as a public storefront.Search-engine appearance depends on indexing and external discoverability outside Newie. Private stores can only be reached by direct link or QR code.
Tap to Pay accepts supported contactless cards and digital wallets.If a customer cannot complete Tap to Pay, ask them to try another supported card or Apple Pay, or send the service link.
Tap to Pay runs through the Newie iOS app on a supported iPhone. Keep Newie and iOS up to date; if the device needs an iOS update, Newie shows an upgrade prompt.
Check Tap to Pay setup, Newie iOS app, supported iPhone, iOS version, payout setup, business location, and Available for Sale status.If the Home setup prompt was dismissed, enable Tap to Pay later from Settings or from the service share flow.
Ask the customer to try Apple Pay or another supported card. If Newie shows a decline code, use Troubleshooting & Error Reference.
