Overview
GoHighLevel can keep sales pipeline and marketing follow-up in sync with Newie billing events. Zapier can create or update contacts, apply tags, and let existing GHL workflows run from those tags. What You’ll Need
- Newie connected to Zapier
- A GoHighLevel sub-account with Zapier or LeadConnector access enabled
- Pre-built tags and workflows in GHL that match the Newie lifecycle events you’ll trigger on
Common Zaps
Subscription Started → LeadConnector: Add/Update Contact Push the active customer into GHL with a tag like “Newie Active” so your onboarding workflow can trigger. Map email, name, and service. Payment Overdue → LeadConnector: Add/Update Contact Update the contact with an “Overdue” tag so an SMS/email recovery workflow fires. Subscription Paused → LeadConnector: Add/Update Contact Update the contact with a “Paused” tag so they exit the active-customer journey and enter a re-engagement workflow. Subscription Ends → LeadConnector: Add/Update Contact Update the contact with a “Churned” tag so your win-back sequence kicks in.Setup at a Glance
- If you have not connected Newie yet, follow Connecting Newie to Zapier first.
- In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Newie as the trigger. Pick Subscription Started for active-customer workflows.
- Connect LeadConnector as the action app and authorize the correct GoHighLevel sub-account.
- Choose Add/Update Contact.
- Map Newie email and name to the GHL contact fields, then specify the tag or tags to add.
- Test, then turn on the Zap.
Notes
- Use Add/Update Contact so existing leads are updated instead of duplicated.
- Drive GHL workflows from tags instead of directly from Zapier, so you can edit the workflow without touching the Zap.
- If you manage multiple GHL sub-accounts, confirm which one the LeadConnector Zapier connection is authorized against before going live.
- LeadConnector action names, fields, and permissions can vary by account and sub-account. Confirm the available fields inside the connected Zapier account before relying on the workflow.
