Overview
Google Calendar is useful when paid customer activity should appear on a schedule. Zapier can add Newie events to a calendar for session planning, reminders, follow-up blocks, or team visibility. What You’ll Need
- Newie connected to Zapier
- A Google account with access to the calendar you want to write to
- A dedicated Google Calendar for billing events (recommended)
Common Zaps
Subscription Started → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Create a calendar event when billing starts and the subscription becomes active. Map customer name and service to the event so it can represent an onboarding call, cohort start date, or internal handoff. One-Off Purchase Complete → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Drop completed one-off purchases onto a “new clients” calendar so you can see them at a glance. Payment Overdue → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Create a follow-up event a day or two out to remind yourself to chase the customer. Subscription Ends → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Block a short retention check-in call on the day a subscription ends.Setup at a Glance
- If you have not connected Newie yet, follow Connecting Newie to Zapier first.
- In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Newie as the trigger. Pick the trigger event.
- Connect Google Calendar as the action app and sign in.
- Choose Create Detailed Event (or Quick Add Event for simpler entries).
- Pick the target calendar, then map Newie fields into the event title, description, and start time. Use a fixed offset (e.g. “1 day from now”) via Formatter by Zapier if you want a scheduled follow-up.
- Test, then turn on the Zap.
Notes
- Google Calendar events need a start time. If your Zap doesn’t have one, use Formatter by Zapier → Date / Time to generate one.
- Choose Subscription Created only for pre-start admin reminders, because it fires when the customer first purchases. Choose Subscription Started when the calendar event represents the billing start date or active paid access.
- Use a dedicated calendar so billing-driven events don’t clutter your main schedule.
