Overview

Trainerize can stay focused on workouts, messaging, and progress while Newie handles subscriptions, payment retries, and pauses. Zapier can create or update paying clients in Trainerize where the required action is available.

What You’ll Need

  • Newie connected to Zapier
  • An ABC Trainerize account on a plan that includes Zapier access
  • A trainer or admin account in Trainerize for the Zapier connection

Common Zaps

Subscription Started → ABC Trainerize client setup When billing starts and the subscription becomes active, create or update the client in ABC Trainerize where that action is available. Map name, email, and Newie service name into the Trainerize note, group, tag, or program field that matches your workflow. One-Off Purchase Complete → ABC Trainerize client setup For one-off intake purchases, create or update the client where Zapier supports it, or notify the coach to follow up. Subscription Paused → Slack/Email notification If Trainerize does not expose the exact pause action you need in Zapier, notify the coach via Slack or email to review access manually. Subscription Ends → Slack/Email notification Notify the coach when a subscription ends so they can review whether to archive or offboard the client in Trainerize.

Setup at a Glance

  1. If you have not connected Newie yet, follow Connecting Newie to Zapier first.
  2. In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Newie as the trigger. Pick Subscription Started or One-Off Purchase Complete.
  3. Connect ABC Trainerize as the action app and authorize with a trainer/admin account.
  4. Choose the client action available to that Trainerize account.
  5. Map Newie’s email, full_name (split via Formatter if needed), and service name into the corresponding Trainerize fields.
  6. Test, then turn on the Zap.

Notes

  • Before turning on the Zap, confirm the exact client action and required fields for the trainer/admin account. If the action or required fields are unavailable, use a coach notification.
  • Some Trainerize client-management actions are only available inside Trainerize. Newie triggers can drive notifications and client updates where Zapier supports them, but they do not create full bidirectional sync.
  • If you run multiple programs, add a Filter by Zapier step on the Newie Offering ID so each Zap only acts on the matching service. Use Copy Offering ID in the service share sheet, or use the offering_id from a Newie Zap sample for that service when setting up the filter outside the app.
  • For paid subscription access, choose Subscription Started. Subscription Created fires when the customer first purchases and can be earlier than billing start for future-start subscriptions.
  • For instalment plans, choose the subscription or payment trigger that matches the plan stage you care about.
