Register Newie customers for a Zoom meeting or webinar after they buy. The Zoom event needs to exist first, with registration enabled, so the Zap can add each customer and Zoom can send their joining details.

Prepare the meeting or webinar

Check that your Zoom plan supports the registration features you need; webinars require the relevant Zoom Webinars access. Create the event and enable registration. Choose Automatically Approve if customers should receive joining details without a host review, and enable the confirmation email. With Manually Approve, the host must approve each registration before Zoom sends the joining details. You’ll also need Newie connected to Zapier.

Register a customer

  1. Choose the Newie trigger: Payment Paid for a paid workshop or registration that must wait for confirmation; Subscription Started if registration begins on the subscription billing start date. Bank-debit subscriptions can become active before payment is confirmed.
  2. Filter by the workshop or service’s Offering ID.
  3. For one-time registration, add a repeat-action check before the registration action; Payment Paid also runs for renewals and instalments. Connect Zoom and choose Create Meeting Registrant or Create Webinar Registrant. Select the event you prepared.
  4. Map the customer’s usable email address to Email and their first name to First Name. Use Formatter → Text → Split Text on Newie’s user.name if needed. For a webinar, enable Send Confirmation Email to Registrants so the customer receives their joining details.
  5. Test with an email address you own. Confirm the registration and joining email, then remove the test registrant and cancel any test subscription. Turn on the Zap once those steps work.

Run recurring sessions

If confirmed payment should register the customer for the next session, use Payment Paid with the service filter. It also fires for separately collected Setup Fees, which do not tell you whether the customer is owed another session. Before registering, check the sessions owed in your purchase log or have someone review the invoice and service. There is no Setup Fee flag in the trigger to filter out those payments. Subscription Renewed can run while a bank debit is processing and excludes initial and separate setup-fee invoices. Update the event selected in the Zap whenever you create a new meeting or webinar; the Zap does not discover a new event ID on its own.

Review access when billing ends

Use Subscription Ends to create a task for someone to review registration. Ending a Newie subscription does not remove the customer from a Zoom meeting or recurring series by itself. A completed instalment plan may also trigger the review even when the customer is still entitled to attend. Last updated: 2026-09-10
